Seven monoliths of Lock 3 get a face lift in a tight time frame. After blasting 750mm of existing concrete from the face of monoliths 3W to 9W Rankin Construction reconstructs over 2300m3 of reinforced concrete in less than two months. The harsh winter of 2010/2011 didn’t prevent the Rankin crews from finishing this project before flooding on March 4, 2011. The demolition, anchoring, forming, and pouring crews worked in sync to ensure the tight schedule requirements were met. During the main wall pours, the crews managed to complete 14 pours in 16 consecutive working days.
