Merritt Street
Merritt Street Bridge - The replacement of the Merritt Street Bridge for the City of St. Catharines was a test of the many skills available to Rankin Construction. This project included complete road and structure reconstruction in a very tight work area while maintaining roadway traffic above the railway traffic below the bridge for the full duration of the project. The various phases of work included complete underground utility replacement, temporary and permanent earth shoring systems, complete road reconstruction, complete bridge removal and replacement including pile driving for new structure foundations. The completed project which was completed ahead of schedule resulted in a significant improvement to the Merritton area of St. Catharines.
